The East Riding of Yorkshire Labour Group have been working hard on our behalf collectively, and individually to fight the £99 million of cuts to Hull and East Yorkshire Hospital Trust. In addition to the work done across Hull, NHS supporters have been campaigning across the East Riding with George McManus and Jackie Crawford organising meetings in Beverley and Goole respectively.
We have the opportunity to ask East Riding of Yorkshire Council Leader Stephen Parnaby a question from the Public Gallery at the Full Council Meeting this Wednesday 2pm, County Hall, Beverley, HU17 9BA.
The question is; “What risk assessments have been undertaken by the Council into the knock on affects of the closure of 300 acute beds and the axing of the specialist Neurology Ward, plus changes to cardiac services by Hull and East Yorkshire Hospital Trust, which result from £99 million in efficiency savings over the next few years?”
As a way of raising our profile, and involving the media we shall be lobbying from 1245 on the day and collecting signatures for our petition. It would be great if as many supporters as possible could come along although it is a working day.
Just a reminder that we have our next Save our NHS Hull and East Yorkshire meeting on Monday 19th 6pm UNISON, Alfred Gelder St, Hull.
