Demo To Protect Beverley NHS Hospital From Private Pirates!

NHSSAVECampaigners will be outside the new Beverley Hospital on the Town’s Swinemoor Lane on Wednesday afternoon following a damning report from the NHS watchdog , the Care Quality Commission.

The CQC report is due to be published on Wednesday morning and is

expected to criticise the Humber Health Trust for the lack of adequately

trained staff.

The Humber NHS Foundation Trust which provides services at the new hospital was told in June that they should stop taking new patients, this is in spite of longer  waiting lists and demand for its range of services.

Speaking today Save Our Local NHS Hull and East Yorkshire Beverley campaigner George McManus said, ‘This is an absolute scandal and highlights the mis-management of the NHS under the Tories health reforms.’

He went on, ‘We are convinced that the new hospital is a prime target for private health providers and that this is the first step in the privatisation process. It’s a scandal that less than a year after the new hospital opened, 2/3 of the beds are closed to Patients. The public sector delivered this new hospital and the Tories now want to sell it off as they have the UK Plasma Service.

They abolished NHS Direct and It’s replacement has failed. Our NHS is being taken apart, we must take action to stop this now.

The demonstration will take place at 3.30pm on the afternoon of Wednesday 31 July, Beverley Hospital, Swinemoor Lane.
