If you are a resident of Haltemprice and Howden we are campaigning this week, along with the People’s NHS regarding the NHs and TTIP. Meet 10am Wednesday and/or Thursday McDonald’s car park Willerby if you can help collect petition signatures or do some door knocking.
Here is what we are asking of David Davis. The legal advice is independently verified.
“As a constituent of yours and I am writing to seek clarification regarding your stance on the Transatlantic Trade & Investment Partnership and the effects it will have upon our National Health Service. I have been Chair of Save Our NHS Hull and East Yorkshire since it’s inception in March 2011.
It has been brought to our attention that TTIP presents clear and present danger to the NHS and we have independent legal evidence that we feel is evidence that the NHS is indeed part of TTIP and unless it’s taken out or a clause is inserted into annex II, then our NHS is under threat of irreversible privatisation. The Conservatives were elected with a definite mandate to protect the NHS in it’s current form and with additional funding and we feel this is being undermined.
On behalf of ‘Save Our NHS Hull & East Yorkshire’ I respectfully ask that you write to the trade minister and seek real assurances with regards to the safety of the NHS and as my representative, give me your commitment you’ll do everything you can to ensure the safety and integrity of the Service as it as it stands should it indeed be part of the trade deal.
Save Our NHS Hull & East Yorkshire will be campaigning in your constituency to make people aware of the dangers that TTIP will have on the NHS and would like to promote your support.
Please find attached a copy of the legal advice we have. Can you please send us any legal evidence that the trade minister has detailing the safety of the NHS and any reply he sends you regarding this matter.
I’d like to thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing your response.
If you wish to email Mr. Davis please get in touch and we will provide the necessary information.
